Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

Hartfeld Country Club - Samantha & Olivier

Wow, lately I’ve been blogging like crazy hardly at all! I’m going to try to catch up a bit this week in between editing weddings and portrait sessions, designing albums, and drinking lots and lots of spiked holiday wassail!

Anyway, on to the pictures. Sam & Olivier were married at the chapel at the Church Farm School, which was beautiful if just a tad dark. Thankfully they had decent lighting inside. We then trucked over to the Hartefeld National Golf Course with a quick stop at Immaculata University for some shots first.

Here’s Sam finishing up a note to Olivier.

Inside the church…

Olivier was tearing up a bit… I love it because that always makes for good pictures.

Some more tears…

Check out this bouquet! (Props to Elegant Stems for their amazing work.)

At Immaculata… the floor lit up, which in my opinion probably justifies the entire cost of tuition.

The toast…

And dances…

Sam’s dad doing a little hobnobbing.

And, of course, the cake, which was cut with Sam’s dad’s Navy saber — difficult to use for finesse work, but they managed with great aplomb. :)

November 27, 2007 - 11:06 pm Gina - Ryan, I think that these are some of your best shots. Even though you shot my wedding in April, I still love looking at your work. Your pictures from this wedding are just breath-taking. I wish I could experience my wedding day all over again, just to have more picture from you!

November 28, 2007 - 7:47 pm Joy Moody - ooohh lalala love that floor. What an awesome spot for photos! You have done it again Ryan. Great job. Seriously, I hope we can shoot together next year. Would be ton of fun.

December 1, 2007 - 5:36 am Lindsay Musser - Ryan, you were right by my office when you shot this wedding. I can almost walk to Immaculata. They look great.
