Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

11.3.07 - Elizabeth & Robb’s wedding

First off, let me say thank you for all of your congratulations as Kelly and I look forward to welcoming little Prudence and Clive into the world… did I mention it’s twins? (Okay, that was a lie. Nope, not twins. Nope, those aren’t any names we’re considering, and nope, I’m not going to tell you whether we’re having a boy or a girl…not yet anyway. Think of this as a chance to start a little office betting pool…)

Back to photography… Elizabeth & Robb were married in Lancaster at the beginning of November (thanks for your patience, Elizabeth & Robb… I know this post is long overdue!). I had a great time with them and their families and managed to take a few pictures while I was at it. Some favorites:

(Yes, I do love shoe shots.)

A chance to play with my new 85/1.4 lens:

The groomsmen hanging out before the ceremony…

I probably took way to many pictures of the flower girl, but how could you not?

See?

Note the flecks of rice birdseed whatever it is they throw at brides & grooms nowadays…

Before heading in to the reception at Riverdale Manor (killer place, by the way… if you’re getting married, check it out) we took a stroll around the grounds for some more pictures.

The shoes came off pretty much right away.

And the party got started…

Thanks again, E&R!
