Sometimes weddings at this time of year can be challenging… it’s cold outside, the sun goes down early, and the light is thinner. It just makes it a little more difficult to get that perfect, warm, golden-lit shot… but Bryn and Josh were so great and really rearranged their wedding day a bit to make it easier to take photos outside. Here are a few from their day.
A little bit o’ prep…
Having your hair done generally looks like a lot more of a hassle (and occasionally painful) for the ladyfolk.
Josh and Bryn were both pretty relaxed that day, which is how it should be… work hard ahead of time, then just enjoy the day!
A few from the ceremony…

Immediately after the ceremony Bryn & Josh, their families and the wedding party jumped into the limo and we drove over to take some pictures at the Westtown School. 20 minutes later and the sun would have been too far down, so we had to work quick! Even though I was wearing a jacket I was still cold and my fingers were going numb, so I can only imagine how Bryn was feeling but she stuck it out and it was worth it.

Eventually it was just too cold and dark to continue, so we headed over to the reception where things heated up quick! Thanks again, Bryn & Josh… I really enjoyed shooting your wedding!

A note to future brides who are getting married in fall or winter… here are just a couple of things you may want to keep in mind regarding pictures…
* Remember that in November/December/January/February/March, the sun goes down earlier than you think! Be in touch with your photographer about the best time to take pictures.
* It can get cold, and wedding dresses generally aren’t built for warmth! I STRONGLY recommend having some sort of jacket or shawl that goes with your dress that you can wear for photos outside.
* If time is of essence after the ceremony, consider having your photos taken before the ceremony. I understand some couples want to follow the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony… but with the right planning, you can make that first moment you see each other one that is very intimate (we can hang back and get some great photos of it too!) and still be able to get your posed pictures taken care of so you can simply enjoy the rest of the day!
