Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

4.19.08 - Carina & Ron

I so love this time of year… aside from the weather, I get to shoot some absolutely gorgeous weddings. I know I sometimes gush about my clients… but how could I not? Every weekend I get to work with amazing people, and Saturday was no exception. You may remember Carina & Ron from their engagement session last fall. Even after a few rather major hiccups with their wedding (such as finding out the WEEK OF their wedding that they needed to change their reception venue) they still were able to relax and enjoy their day. Once again, Joy Moody came along to add her skillz to the mix — we had a great time shooting.

The church was great, nice and bright!

And on the way into the city for pictures, Carina & Ron stood up out of the skylight of the limo. It was really a trip seeing people’s reactions on the street.

I think this one is my favorite of the entire day. Flowers by the fantastic Brittany at Petals Lane.

And on to the reception at the Philadelphia College of Physicians, which I’d never been to before but was very impressed by. If you’re looking for a band, the Jack Faulkner Orchestra did a great job.

On to the slideshow!

April 22, 2008 - 8:22 pm Denise Cashman - Ryan - The pictures are gorgeous! Carina sent me a text message last night from St. Lucia asking if they were up yet. I've been checking all day. She is going to love them!! Great Job!

April 22, 2008 - 9:44 pm Judy Ruiz - You took some really cool shots. The photo on the staircase is really unique. You couldn't have done that at the Racquet Club. I love the shot with the tulips as well. Actually, I liked them all because they expressed how everyone was feeling! I told my mom you got a great picture of her when Carina was trying to put on the corsage. She doesn't believe me (she has no computer), but it really is good of her. I love to read what you write about every wedding. Not only are you good at photography, but you are good in expressing your thoughts. I loved all the expressions on your daughter! That was funny that you even got a picture of your feet! We enjoyed working with you, and we look forward to seeing the rest. P. S. I can't wait to tell Steve Stoltzfus that you photographed Carina's wedding. He is always so upbeat and a joy to be around.

April 23, 2008 - 9:29 am Joy Moody - sweet sweet sweet! Awesome shots from an amazing day. I loved that everyone kept their spirits high despite a few bumps in the road and everything came together wonderfully. Congrats Carina and Ron so great meeting you and such privilege to help document your day. As always Ryan, what can I say, love working with ya.
