Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

French Creek Golf Club - Dawn & James

It’s been 12 years since I graduated from the small, rural high school known as Twin Valley. Having lost touch with most people from that point in my life, you’d think that shooting the wedding of a classmate would be a rare occurence, but 2008 has proven otherwise. When Dawn first called me to discuss wedding photography, I thought, “Waitaminnit, that name sounds familiar…” Sure enough, a quick check of the ol’ yearbook confirmed it, and so on June 28 I shot my third Twin Valley grad wedding so far this year. (The other two? Here and here.)

I couldn’t ask for a more enjoyable couple to photograph, nor one so photogenic and so “in to” having their photos taken!

Dawn totally rocked her part of the shoot!

Sneaking out to take advantage of some end-of-day light.

It was really cool to see James dancing with his grandmother.

I’m pretty sure Dawn started the cake-smashing.

The whole event took place at French Creek Golf Club, which is just beautiful.

I also want to thank Kelli Cohee for joining me that day!

Okayokayokay, here’s the slideshow…

July 28, 2008 - 1:01 pm Pete Malone - Ryan, The flash photos look incredible! Yes, it's flash....but you see NO SHADOWS at all! It just looks perfectly lit. I gotta study your technique!
