Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

The Parker Girls

Shooting Photographing children is really a unique challenge… in some ways it’s more challenging than doing weddings because it’s just so intense… I’m constantly moving around, cajoling them to smile (or to stop smiling), and I have to be quick about it because kids rarely want to stay in one spot for more than about a nanosecond. That said, it’s also a lot of fun! Last week I had the pleasure of working with these two young ladies…

Here’s one of my favorites… I like it because it’s clearly not posed, and their personalities show through.

Getting close to the end! :) This is another one of my favs.

Thank you, girls, for a great morning!

November 13, 2008 - 8:32 pm Kim Johnson - I love these images. I'm insanely jealous of the scenery, we just don't have those sorts of stone walls and awesome old wagons around here. Well, maybe I just haven't located the wagons yet, but I'm pretty convinced we just don't have stonework like that out here. And the rolling hills, I miss the rolling hills. Just curious, what lens do you use with kids? Did you happen to be at Hopewell Furnace? I haven't been there in years, but it reminds me of Hopewell.
