Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

Cairnwood - Therese & Ryan

Ok, this train has been a long time comin’… I’m finally getting caught up after a rather crazy holiday season and am able to show you a few images from Therese & Ryan’s wedding in November!

I was excited for T&R’s wedding, not only because they’re such a fun couple (you may remember their engagement photos at Lincoln Financial Field earlier this fall) but also because I got to work with some great people at their wedding. For starters, Heather Fowler joined me for the day to add her artistic vision to the photography.

Erin Proud of Proud to Plan made sure the day ran according to schedule, and Pete Malone of First Floor Films took care of the video side of things. We all had a blast!

The day began at the Sofitel Philadelphia where Therese and her party was getting ready.

We popped outside for a few shots of Therese workin’ it in Philly.

I love this shot that Heather snagged of Therese as she arrived in the Rolls.

The church was gorgeous too.

We were racing the sun to try to get some shots outside at Cairnwood, where the reception took place.

And yes, the Mummers were there too. This happens to me at least once or twice a year, and I’m not complaining!

Therese dancing with her grandfather… images like this can be some of the most memorable moments of the day.

They also had a great vintage photobooth! I believe I’m not alone in thinking these are the greatest things ever… I caught Ryan’s parents getting their mug shots taken!

And, of course, I couldn’t resist jumping into the photobooth with Pete and with Heather to commemorate the occasion…

Thank you to Therese and Ryan, and to everyone else who was involved in making this day a success!
