Ryan Estes Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to the Ryan Estes Photography Blog

I'm Ryan, and you'll often find me with camera in hand.  I live and work in the greater Philadelphia area providing brides, grooms, and families with cutting-edge photography.  Here you'll find the latest images, news, and bits of this and that from Ryan Estes Photography.  Come back often -- there's a lot happening, both in my life and in those of my clients.

What sort of images can you expect to see?  That's a difficult question to answer... photojournalism + fashion, portraiture + landscape, documentary + candid... real people on the most important day of their lives, and genuine emotions shining through.

One thing is clear: these aren't your grandmother's wedding pictures.  (No offense to your grandmother, of course...)

Duck Pin Bowling

I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start. I’ve hit the ground running, tackling everything from album designs, to editing one last 2008 wedding, to working on marketing, to meeting with potential clients… you name it.

I won’t bore you with a lot of family Christmas pictures, but my family did something unique when we were in Baltimore for a few days: duck pin bowling, which is really only done in a few small areas of the country. Basically the same as regular bowling except the pins and balls are smaller and you get three chances each frame instead of just two. It’s actually a lot of fun, and my family is uber-competitive so that made it all the better. I don’t mind telling you that I four bucks from my brothers since I had the highest score. Holla!

Dawson keeping a close eye on the score.

My dad teaching Holly how it’s done.

Tyler keeps it cool, like always.

Not quite what Dawson was hoping for. He got a strike the next frame, if memory serves.

I had a great time - it sure beats eating fruitcake!

January 9, 2009 - 7:17 am Dave Williams - Loved it! Now I want to go duck pin bowling with the kids!
